Second lesson from depression: Never attach your value to anything

Sometimes in life and unconsciously you start identifying yourself to your job, your house, your family, your money, your boyfriend...etc. All those are things or people that might go away at any time. You don’t have any CONTROL on them. You can lose your job at any time, your boyfriend can leave you. And when all your life falls apart, you find out that you haven’t had the time to build something strong from the inside that will allow you to face all those difficult moments and get up stronger.
You have been collecting things and people around you. Your life turns around those things and you have forgotten to make your soul strong and independent from things and people.
Depression teached me to never attach my value to anything or anyone. To always be aware that my value doesn’t depend on my salary or my boyfriend. I exist anyway and my value stays the same in both cases having or not money, being or not with my beloved, having or not this dream job. I believe strongly that I was able to have all this once so I can have them again and losing evwerything won’t make me feel less valuable.
the only that you should value yourself to is YOU and nothing else. Develop yourself from the inside, love yourself more than anything or anyone else.
